The Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Flaman as our new Technical Director.
This full-time role represents our commitment to the continued development of our players, coaches, and hockey programming. As Technical Director, Jack will provide leadership and direction for player development initiatives across the association, support coaches in delivering high-quality instruction, and help ensure a consistent development pathway for Whalers players at all age levels.
Jack brings a wealth of playing, coaching, teaching, and leadership experience to the position.
Originally from Vibank, Saskatchewan, Jack attended Notre Dame College, where he combined academics with high-performance hockey development. He went on to play four seasons in the WHL before continuing his hockey career with the Acadia Axemen.
During his time at Acadia, Jack was actively involved in hockey camps, was honoured to serve as team captain, and met his future wife. Following graduation, Jack and his wife returned to Notre Dame, where he spent two years teaching and coaching before relocating to Halifax.
Most recently, Jack taught Grade 5 and hockey skills at East Coast Varsity, served as an assistant coach with the Halifax Macs, and worked with players in Whalers development sessions.
Jack’s passion for youth development extends beyond the game itself. As he begins this new role, his focus is on helping young athletes not only become better hockey players, but also great people.
Please join us in welcoming Jack to the Whalers family. We are excited about the experience, knowledge, and energy he will bring to our association and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our players, coaches, and families.
Welcome, Jack!
