October 14, 2021 Update

Good evening  U9 Families,

Thank you for your patience while waiting for your ice times this weekend. Please see the attached groupings. Please take note of the times and rinks; times may vary from past ice times and this weekend will be our first time in rink D this season.

There will no longer be pre-screening covid links being sent out. Parents are asked to self-assess at home before coming to the rink.  Spectators will be asked for proof of vaccination and ID when entering the rink.  There will be 1 spectator per player this weekend.

Please remember that NO parents are allowed in the dressing rooms. Last weekend, we had many parents entering/ attempting to enter the dressing room to help their player get dressed. . All dressing rooms have volunteers in there to assist. These volunteers have had their criminal record checks completed. We cannot let anyone in the dressing room that does not have their CRCs .If you would like to volunteer you can find information about completing these checks on the Dartmouth Whalers website.

Thank you for understanding and respecting these guidelines.

Welcome returning and newest Whalers families to the U9 2021/2022 season. There have been a lot of Whalers communications circulating thus far so I will summarize a few points relevant to U9 below:

  • Covid related procedures can be found on the Dartmouth Whalers website home page.
  • We kick off the year with balancing this weekend, please see posted times.
  • There will be no spectators for this weekend’s sessions, we are working on a plan to allow spectators for the following weekend.
  • We encourage players to arrive fully dressed 15 minutes ahead of ice time, we will have certified volunteers assisting with skates.
  • Numbered jerseys will be distributed at check in, they must be returned after the session.
  • Please send clearly identified water bottles to each session.
  • As it stands, we will have sessions on Saturday and Monday of Thanksgiving weekend, please check posted times Wednesday of next week.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have already signed up for on ice, and off ice roles. Erin Madden has offered to fill the role at U9 Coordinator for this season, you can reach her at novcoordinator@whalers.org

We recognize the importance of friend requests whether it be for parent logistics or simply the fun of being on the same team as your friend. Please submit requests to Erin with ‘Friend Request’ in the subject line. We will do our best to accommodate.

This season start up will have unique challenges, I ask that you have patience with our hardworking volunteers.
